This week the ELCA removed one of its pastors for being involved in an open homosexual relationship. At first glance one would think, "yea, they are finally standing up for Biblical Standards of behavior", but no they are only abiding by their written policies. In fact, the jury that made the ruling added on to the ruling that the ELCA should remove the policy because it may violate their constitution and by-laws. In addition, they feel why should they remove somebody who is in a "loving and chaste relationship" with a person of the same sex. The audacity of these people to make such a statement and maintain my name in their title! They have thrown out everything for which I stood. Did I not make my stand on the Word of God? Did not God make it clear that homosexuality is a sin? Did not God make it equally clear that like every other sin it is one worthy of damnation?
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
While they are at it this August, they should vote to remove the name Lutheran from their denomination, for they are no longer associating my name with sound teaching.
